Microelectronics Engineer for Test Chip Design

The candidate will work as part of a global team that develops and maintains a software testing environment for GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ testchip team. The team’s mission is to provide state-of-the-art test structures for microelectronic development in advanced nodes (45RF, 28nm, 22nm, 14 nm). Design macros often consist of integrating discrete device macros into large padcages, custom functional designs, and running design rule checks (DRC) and other checking algorithms. This position heavily relies on the candidate's ability to automate macro design, and to respond rapidly in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:  Master’s/Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Good understanding of physical layout, technology ground rules, and semiconductor processes
  • Experience with CAD systems in Electronics (Cadence IC, Cadence OrCAD, Protel or similar)
  • 0-2 years of work experience in semiconductor and/or EDA industries
  • Excellent technical problem solving skills
  • Fluent in English – both written and verbal
  • Good communication skills and ability to work flexibly in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and shows initiative
  • Well organized and exhibits attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Cadence IC (Virtuoso Layout, Schematic or Skill programming language) is a plus
  • Experience with Cadence SKILL language to develop Parameterized Cell (PCell) and place & route scripts for layout is a plus
  • Previous experience with Unix/Linux systems is also a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Tcl, Bash...) is a plus
