Veliko Tarnovo
Veliko Tarnovo is located in the very center of Bulgaria – halfway between Sofia and Varna. The northern slopes of Stara Planina Mountain rise to the south of the town, as the Danubian Plain spreads to the north of the town.
The town is the fifteenth largest town in Bulgaria and has a population of 68 828 citizens according to data by the National Statistical Institute as at the end of 2019. It is one of the four towns in Bulgaria characterized with a continuous positive natural growth - from 2006 until 2014.
Being a town of multiple landmarks and a former capital of Bulgaria, Veliko Tarnovo is one of the most bustling tourist centers of Bulgaria. Its unique location on top of three hills – Tsarevets, Trapezitsa and Sveta Gora, make it one of the most beautiful towns in the country and in Europe.
Veliko Tarnovo is characterized with favorable demographic and educational trends. Its economy is dominated by several large companies working in the field of processing industry, as there has been some major reported investment interest on the part of manufacturers.
