On behalf of one of our trusted clients, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding international investment group operating at the forefront of the renewable energy. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to complex, high-value transactions and innovative infrastructure projects shaping the future of clean energy across Europe and beyond.
About the Role:
As Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in supporting the legal and regulatory framework underpinning the operations of a diversified energy investment group with over €1 billion in assets under management. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including senior management and project teams, across multiple jurisdictions, advising on a wide range of matters including corporate law, finance, M&A, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and review corporate, commercial, and financial legal documentation, including loan agreements, collateral instruments, shareholder resolutions, and intercompany contracts
- Support project execution by conducting and/or reviewing legal due diligence for acquisitions, joint ventures, and project finance transactions
- Manage corporate governance for group entities and subsidiaries, including drafting of board resolutions, shareholder minutes, and regulatory filings
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, particularly in relation to KYC/AML procedures
- Collaborate with external legal advisors and international counterparties to support cross-border transactions
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to renewable energy, finance, and investment operations
Qualifications & Experience:
- University degree in Bulgarian Law and full legal capacity; qualification in English law or another EU jurisdiction is a strong advantage
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within an international law firm, financial institution, or multinational corporate legal department
- Proven experience in corporate law, project finance, or investment structuring in a cross-border context
- Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Excellent drafting skills and keen attention to legal detail
- Strong command of MS Office and legal research tools
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication and time management skills
