Senior Accountant
About the role:
Deliver a broad range of accounting and financial management services to support finance activities across all business brands. The Senior Accountant works in close partnership with the business and global finance to execute financial strategies that will directly contribute to the growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and perform hands-on accounting activities, ensuring accuracy of daily bookkeeping and financial records.
• Analyze financial data and prepare clear financial reports and performance analyses for management.
• Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity in line with approved budgets.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Prepare budgets and support financial planning activities in line with company timelines.
• Ensure full compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT reporting, tax returns, statutory filings, and interaction with tax authorities.
• Coordinate and manage external audits and support tax audits, ensuring smooth execution and compliance.
• Proactively optimize accounting processes by identifying inefficiencies and implementing best practices and automation initiatives.
• Monitor changes in accounting, tax, and regulatory legislation and ensure their correct application within the company.
• Sign annual financial statements and take responsibility for their accuracy and compliance.
• Work within an international reporting structure, collaborating closely with regional or global finance teams and providing regular financial reporting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional finance or accountancy qualifications/certifications (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, etc.) are considered an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within real estate, retail, or commercial real estate.
• Legal right and professional eligibility to sign statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on experience in preparing financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Experience working in a matrix organization, including functional reporting and close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with a strong focus on Microsoft Excel.
• Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong attention to detail with a structured and analytical mindset.
• Adaptable personality with the ability to quickly acquire and apply technical knowledge.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage internal stakeholders and end users.
