The Role  

We are looking for an AWS Infrastructure Engineer to be part of a team that will work on exciting new project for KBC group. You will be key contributor to the success of our main digital innovation (Kate). Kate is KBC’s digital assistant designed to deliver unique experience to our clients, making their daily banking or insurance operations easier than ever, from the comfort of their homes. Kate is already helping KBC clients in Belgium, Czech Republic and Bulgaria and will be launched soon in all other entities of the group.  

As an AWS Infrastructure Engineer, you will have the below responsibilities:  

  • Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.
  • Follow the best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Monitor AWS environments to ensure optimal performance and seamless operations
  • Implement the application’s CI/CD pipeline using the AWS CI/CD stack.
  • Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation/Terraform or similar.

Job requirements

As an AWS Infrastructure Engineer you are:  

  • An Infra-specialist with a proven experience
  • Focused on implementing according to the Well Architect Framework
  • Able to automate, scale, storage, monitor, update, backups, high-availability and disaster recovery
  • Able to efficiently communicate and coordinate in case of emergency
  • Able to teach your colleague’s about AWS and implementations
  • You like to work in a context where you can independently take up tasks E2E
  • Can work with strict deadlines in a highly dynamic organization
  • Fluent in English
  • Certification in AWS will be considered a plus 

You will have experience with: 

  • Experience with the core AWS services
  • Good background in Linux/Unix administration.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.
  • Previous exposure to large-scale systems design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
  • Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.
  • Past experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda is a plus. For example, the Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM)
  • Knowledge of:
    • writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
    • Python
    • Shell
    • Networking and core internet protocols
    • SQL and No-SQL basics
